Worm Farm
Another aspect for us in creating food for our plants is in the maintenance
of a worm farm. Worm castings are amongst the healthiest, most potent supply
of nutrients for our plants - for any plants! There are 3 stacked bins to our worm
farm. The worms live in the top bin. We provide them with food, typically yummy
kitchen scraps. The solid matter (their excrement) in the middle bin, is collected
and distributed in very small amounts, or mixed with other compost, soil, or
liquid first, then distributed. The bottom bin contains the liquid from further
decomposed solid matter dripping down from the middle bin - highly nutritious,
very potent. This gets diluted and distributed to our plants.
